We pride ourselves in having a wide selection of make and models to choose from at Rutabaga, but that means that we sometimes don't have specific models or colors shown on our sales floor. If you want to come and check out a specific boat on our sales floor, please call or email us in advance to set up a viewing appointment. If we don't have the exact make and model you're after on the floor, it could take 45 minutes or more to retrieve that specific boat from our warehouses.
The 18 is a little bit of a freighter, good for larger loads and longer trips, straight tracking and up to big lakes and rivers.
Sometimes more is better. The Northwind 18 offers the same stability as our flagship Northwind 17, but the additional space provides a little more comfort for a third member of the group or the family dog. There’s no need to debate bringing the Dutch oven and camp chairs. The Northwind 18 is ready to haul your gear.

Carbon and Black Innegra co-woven outer with inner blanket of proprietary yellow and black aramid. Our lightest lamination at the expense of some durability, a dream for wet footed portaging. Only available with E6 trim and E6 parts: canoe weights reflects E6/E6 savings. Stealth is lighter than StarLite and has lower impact resistance. Weight savings and wet footed portaging go hand in hand. Many options are not offered with Stealth including: skid plates, adjustable seats, third seats, and kneeling thwarts.Color: black carbon and black Innegra weave.

E6 trim consists of elegant carbon gunwales with integrated carbon end decks, birdseye maple, walnut and ash laminated curved thwarts and flat yoke, birdseye maple, walnut and ash laminated contoured web seats hung on ash drops, and stem mounted tie down loops. Full outwales mean a stiffer and drier canoe. E6 trim reduces a canoe’s weight by one pound. Wood
Northstar wood trim consists of oiled white ash gunwales, sculpted and laminated black walnut and ash end decks, walnut and ash laminated contoured web seats hung on walnut trusses, walnut and ash laminated thwarts and yoke, and stem mounted tie down loops.Laminated black walnut and ash creates a distinctive and refined canoe that is stronger and lighter. Wood trim adds two to three pounds per canoe.
