Base Camp Pro 10L
Just fill, hang, and drink! With the Katadyn Base Camp Pro 10L, you always have clean drinking water and you won t have to pump a stroke. At the heart of the Katadyn Base Camp Pro 10L isthe newly developed Ultra FlowTM Filter Element. With its flow rate of up to 2 liters per minute, you can reliably filter bacteria, cysts and sediment. A cleanable filter protector lengthens the lifetime of the element so it can clean up to 1,500 liters of water. Thanks to the water level indicator window you can easily see when you need to make another trip to your water source. When you need to refill water, you can easily remove the tube with a quick-release valve equipped with auto shut off. That keeps the hose from coming in contact with contaminated water during refilling. The Katadyn Base Camp Pro 10L comes with a practical carry strap to make fetching water from a river or spring easier. Whether brushing your teeth, washing up, or quenching your thirst, plenty of fresh water will always be available with the Base Camp Pro 10L. And with the shower adaptor (available separately), nothing will even stand in the way of a refreshing shower outdoors. One-Year AntiClog Guarantee on the filter element. Katadyn warrants your Ultra Flow Filter Element to be free from defects that cause the filter to clog.

I just got this filter for a 3-day trip on the Wisconsin River (and many future trips). I have an older pump filter, but it's difficult to use and time consuming. I bought this one after using a similar one on an Outward Bound course. This worked so well I can't imagine why they even still make the pump filters! It was so fast and easy. I can't recommend it enough!

If you are tired of pumping your water filter, this is the piece for you. Just scoop your water into the bag and let gravity and the activated carbon filter do the rest. There is no pre-filter, so using the cleanest (free of sediment and flotsam) water possible will extend the life of the filter cartridge. I usually try to fill the bag from out in the lake (away from shore and he debris churned up by wave action) or fill a separate container and let it settle before introducing it to the filter bag. An excellent piece of equipment, especially for larger groups.

I went on a 5-day sea kayak expedition to the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior with a Chicago-area outfitter and this is the filter they used. There were 12 people in the group and this filter worked very well for us. There was no taste to the water. I couldn't believe we had just taken the water right out of a lake! If it is good enough for them, who use them all the time, then it is good enough for me, so I bought one!
