Good, comfortable boots rating
I'm about a size nine but I need high arch inserts and these boots don't have inserts so I went to size 10. The staff at Rutabaga let me bring my inserts in and try them out in the boots till we were sure they'd work. I tried out my first pair in the Yahara River and found a pinhole leak. Rutabaga exchanged them that day. This pair has gone through two summers of mud and rocks. I like that I can pull the gaiters up or down as I need them. I took a four day kayak camping trip down the lower Wisconsin River last September. The river was really low, sandbars everywhere. Several times a day I spent time walking my boat along in freezing cold water, ankle deep and higher, till I could find the channel again. And it rained most of one day. These boots kept me warm and dry and were good footing in the sand. I can't think of any cons. They fold up compact and they're tough as nails. No complaints.
