Turtleback Deck Bag
This contoured little deck bag is perfect for paddlers who like a clean deck but still want quick access to a few top side essentials like a radio, sunscreen, or gloves. It has built-in flotation and a bomb proof anchoring system that will withstand any sized deck wash.
The Turtleback has a single zipper and is anchored to the deck with four straps and buckles. Two strips of Velcro on the top of the bag provide a place for temporary storage, and a plastic strip gives the bag its shape and holds it open. Adding a matching buckle half to one of the anchoring straps allows the deck bag to double as a fanny pack.
John R. at Rutabaga says:
"The perfect size bag to take on day-paddles or big excursions. Use it for lunch and sunscreen or to keep your fishing tackle handy. It also easily converts to a waist-pack when you need to stretch your legs."

This is one of my favorite deck bags. It's the perfect size to hold a small waterproof camera, a little bottle of sunscreen, and maybe an epi-pen or small first aid kit. It also holds Jolly Ranchers for those long, boring crossings.

The whole reason why I choose to paddle the boats I do is because of the low fore deck, now why would I want a huge bag in front of me? The low profile Turtleback Deck Bag is convenient and has the best method of attachment of any bag that I know. I don't need space for more than a camera, granola bar and maybe a hat. North Water is now including the buckles needed to convert this bag into a fanny pack. When you hit shore, use it to carry a few items on your exploration of the shoreline.
