Nova Craft's classic design from the Chestnut Canoe Co. was a favorite of Bill Mason. The Bob Special's hull has been slightly modified for a faster hull speed and contemporary materials have decreased the weight significantly. The length and rocker make for an agile boat in whitewater and the shallow arch bottom make for a fairly fast and stable canoe on flat water. With enough load capacity for a tandem weekend trip and several weeks solo, the Bob Special is great for a parent who wants to get the kids out for some short paddling adventures as well as get out for some extended solo trips.

More Info

TuffStuff is a cutting edge proprietary composite made of basalt and Innegra fibers. Basalt fibre is made of melted basalt rock and Innegra is a fibre consisting mostly of polypropylene. When they are woven together into a cloth and infused with Nova Craft's high impact vinylester resin system, the result is simply amazing! TuffStuff canoes are a great choice for paddlers looking for a light canoe for extended flatwater tripping with more than enough strength to handle lots of abuse in the back country.
