ACCESSORY SHIPPING

Online and phone orders received before 2:00 PM CST will usually ship the same day, provided the product ordered is in stock. Orders received after 2:00 PM CST will usually ship the next business day. Orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground, unless you select an expedited shipping method for an additional charge. Online orders are generally not processed on Thursdays,Sundays, or holidays.

Enter the zip code, 53716, into either the UPS Ground Shipping Map or the USPS Priority Mail Map for estimated shipping times within the contiguous United States, Hawaii, and Alaska.

Split Shipments

When you order more than one product, we will make every attempt to ship everything in the order at the same time. Exceptions include, but are not limited to:
-Roof Rack systems (Yakima, Thule): crossbars and certain other large/long products will always ship separately from other items in the same order.
Drop-ship items (Bending Branches, AquaBound, EcoFireBar): products that ship directly from the manufacturer and will arrive separately from in-stock items.

-Large kayak and canoe carts, and storage racks.

-Canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddleboard paddles. 

Order Confirmation

You will receive an email confirmation upon receipt of your order. Please retain this as a record of your transaction and for reference should any issues arise in the processing of your order. Rutabaga reserves the right at any time after receipt of your order to accept or decline your order for any reason.

Return Shipping

Rutabaga will pay for the return shipping of a product due to defects in manufacturing and/or workmanship within 30 days from the date of purchase. Read our complete Return Policy for more information.

Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico

Orders shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico need to be processed manually to ensure that you get the best rate possible. Please email orders@rutabaga.com, or call Rutabaga Paddlesports at 608-223-9300 during business hours for service options and rates. Orders shipped outside the 48 contiguous states are not eligible for free or reduced rate shipping promotions, or for expedited shipping options.

Military Addresses

Orders being sent to APO or FPO Boxes will be shipped via United States Postal Service Priority Mail.

International Shipping

Rutabaga Paddlesports is currently unable to ship items internationally.

Shipping Promotions

During shipping promotions, Rutabaga Paddlesports offers free or reduced rate shipping on select items shipped to the contiguous United States and APO/FPO Boxes. The carrier used during free shipping promotions will be chosen at the discretion of Rutabaga Paddlesports. Orders shipped to Alaska and Hawaii are not eligible for shipping promotions. Oversize items are not eligible for shipping promotions. Rutabaga Paddlesports reserves the right to cancel or change shipping promotions at any time.

CANOE, KAYAK & STAND-UP PADDLEBOARD SHIPPING

Our goal is for you to receive your canoe, kayak, or SUP board in the same exact condition that it left Rutabaga. Freight companies don't typically make this easy for us, so we highly recommend using KAS Transport over a freight company. However, we can ship a plastic boat by freight if needed. Read more below. Inflatable boats and boards are available for shipping, since they are boxed. 

Option 1: KAS TRANSPORT

Owners, Kathy and Steve, operate a wonderful boat transport service. They deliver boats on a trailer, not in a freight container, which offers better protection for your purchase. This is the only option for shipping composite boats (fiberglass, Kevlar, aramid, TuffStuff, carbon, ABS, etc.) from Rutabaga. For this option you will be setting up the shipping of your boat with KAS directly, not through Rutabaga.
Steps include:
1) Contact KAS to get a quote.
2) Call Rutabaga and make your boat purchase over the phone.
3) After purchasing the boat, once again contact KAS for your shipping options.
4) KAS will then contact Rutabaga to pick up the boat and deliver it to you.
It's that easy.

Option 2: FREIGHT

We ONLY ship polyethylene (plastic) kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards by freight, typically using ABF. We do not ship boats made of composite material (fiberglass, Kevlar, aramid, TuffStuff, carbon, ABS, etc.) by freight. We suggest using KAS Transport for shipping a composite boat. For available freight services and rates please call the store to get a quote for the product you wish to purchase and ship.
Steps for shipping by freight include:
1) Call Rutabaga to set up a quote.
2) Rutabaga will call you back with a quote based on what you are shipping (length and weight of boat) and where you live. You may complete your boat purchase at that time.
3) Rutabaga will set up the delivery of the boat with the freight company.
4) Your boat shipment will be sent to the freight terminal that is closest to your home or work. You are responsible for picking the boat up from the terminal.

Freight shipping of canoes and kayaks is only available to the lower 48 states, not available to Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Terms & Conditions

- Rutabaga will handle damage claims within 2-6 weeks.
- For insurance purposes, Rutabaga cannot ship Used Boats.

Option 3: LOCAL BOAT DELIVERY

Free boat delivery is available for those within the Madison area. If you purchase two boats, the radius can become a bit larger. Ask about this option when you call to purchase your boat.

Option 4: PICK UP AT THE STORE

Buy a boat over the phone and pick up your purchase at our store: 220 W Broadway, Madison, WI 53716. Please note: boat pick-ups are currently by appointment only. Please call Rutabaga to schedule an appointment before you come to pick up your purchased boat.
