I have a pygmy Queen Charlotte that I built almost 15 years ago. It came with VCP hatches. I had already replaced the original cover with another VCP hatch and needed to replace it again. The one I had was covered in duct tape to hold it together. I found this SEA-LECT cover and ordered it. It fits perfectly. I can't speak to the longevity yet, but it can't be worse than the original. Thanks

I have replaced all the Valley hatch covers on two boats with these over the last several years, and find them to be superior to the Valleys. Easy to put on, and completely watertight. I also don’t fear that they’ll disintegrate while out paddling. They’re easy to tether to the deck rigging on the boat securely. Very happy with them.

I have a Valley Skerray RM. I'm pretty sure it was made in the late 80's. I bought it used in the early 00's. Anyway, both hatch covers were rotted and needed to be replaced. The measurements given for this product didn't exactly match my measurements, but there was an additional note that said the hatch cover would fit Valley boats, so I gave it a try. It fits perfect! When I put a measuring tape to the hatch opening, it is smaller than these measurements, but regardless, it fits!

I can't complain really...I've had 13 years of good service from my Valley hatch covers, but this summer they simply disintegrated. The new Performance Oval is a great improvement in ease of fit (perfect for cold Lake Superior hands here in the mid-west) and, just like the Valley hatch it replaced, keeps the gear nice and dry too.
