The Prospector 14 is the quintessential multi-purpose solo boat. If you prefer traditional paddling while kneeling with the boat heeled over, or sitting upright with your feet forward, the Prospector 14 can accommodate any paddling style. A high-volume hull with moderate width but ample tumblehome, it features a high weight capacity for long-distance trippers but offers the performance and feel of a sleek high-efficiency design. Quick to turn and easy to control, you can take your Prospector 14 out for an afternoon of fishing or photography, or you can load it for days or weeks in the backcountry. This layup comes with multi-height seat pods to create two canoe-style setups. The Prospector 14 is designed to give you a multitude of options for your next wilderness adventure.

This boat has a Champagne colored bottom because scratches on your boat always appear white. This keeps your boat looking newer, longer, and offers a little extra protection. A popular option for good reason!
Kevlar Fusion Laminates
Our most popular canoe laminate with our highest strength to weight ratio.
Swift Kevlar Fusion canoes are built with an outside layer of a clear marine grade gel coat with Polyester, S-glass and Kevlar cloth layers sandwiching a durable foam core and rib system. The laminate is fused together with a high impact, flexible Epoxy Vinylester resin system.
The Kevlar Fusion laminate is available with our vibrant colour cloth finish or solid color gel coat finish.
Hi, I'm Darren (yeah, the owner of Rutabaga Paddlesports) but I had to review it anyway. Upside: gorgeous, light, awesome seating options. I like to kneel mostly, but sometimes I just want to drop the seat and sit for a while, and the multipod seat makes it so easy. The screw-in yoke is the best option for solo canoes; it's like having a fixed yoke with zero slippage.
Downside: only one, and that it's not as fast as some other 14 footers. It's not supposed to be fast, since it's meant as a river canoe, but I'd take it to the BWCA if I weren't in a big hurry and stayed off the biggest lakes in the wind.
