Beware Amateurs ! The Good, the Bad, & The Ugly rating
My buddy and I got the notion to explore the Yahara River chain from Rutabaga down to Lake Kegonsa and rented this canoe. We both had done some canoeing in our younger days and thought we knew what we were doing. There were a few good things about this canoe and a few not so great things. The Good: It was light weight and easy to portage over Highway 51 and around the dam leading out of Lake Waubesa. It cleared the bottom of the shallows with ease. A few times we touched bottom, but we slid right over like a snake. This is a great canoe for shallows.
