Recently, I purchased a second kayak and the salesman (successfully) introduced us to the idea of investing in a Werner paddle (the Skagit) which, unfortunately, he did not have in the size that I required. In fact, I could not find the paddle anywhere in the country. After thinking a while, I decided to invest upward and purchased the Kalliste. The paddle is simply superb! It is well engineered, moves through the water effortlessly, assuring many additional miles of paddling. I’m sure that the paddle technically exceeds my modest paddling needs, but it increases the enjoyment of whatever paddling time I can carve out. My only concern is that, after the first paddle I noticed two surface “dings” that I hope do not get worse with use. In addition, Rutabaga was great to work with and I will look forward to working with them whenever I need anything in the future.
