First, I should mention that I'm new to the sport of kayaking. A friend of mine talked me into a couple of races, so I borrowed a 12' Dagger and Low Angle paddle from my brother; so far I've paddled fifteen times, averaging about 12 miles per outing.
After logging a few miles, I realized my forward stroke was more upright than low angle, so decided to purchase the Shuna (as opposed to the Camano).
The Shuna arrived and I took it out last weekend, and I must say that the low angle paddle I was using seems a little more forgiving, i.e. blade placement can be less precise, but after five miles, I was completely comfortable with the Shuna. I think the Shuna will be a good match for narrower boat that I'm currently building.
Additionally, the weight of the Shuna is much lighter, equaling less fatigue after a three hour paddle.
But maybe most importantly, this is a GOOD LOOKING paddle. I purchased the red version, and if nothing else, it makes me "look" as if I know what I'm doing; at least until I get on the water.
Lastly, I should put in a plug for Rutabaga Paddle Sports. They were the only online company that stocked the RED; the paddle arrived on time, in perfect condition. I am very happy with the Shuna and Rutabaga.

The very day this paddle arrived I took it out for a "test drive". I love it! It is light weight, easy to adjust the angle, comfortable to hold and just plain good looking in red.
