Boat Repair

In an effort to ensure high quality repair of your canoe, kayak, or stand up paddleboard, Rutabaga has partnered with Jim Fietzer, owner and operator of Jim's Small Boat Repair.

While we cannot currently do repairs in-house, Rutabaga is still your source for replacement parts and advice for Do-It-Yourself repairs. Feel free to contact us with any DIY inquiries at customerservice@rutabaga.com. Please be sure to include a full description of your issue and photos of the damage for the best advice possible.

Rutabaga can also assist with modifications you may desire on NEW stock canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards, such as installing wheel kits to fishing kayaks, swapping out a back band, etc.

A note from Jim:
Each repair is unique, but the desired outcomes are always the same – getting you back out on the water in a boat that you enjoy as soon as possible. Certainly, there are some limitations, but I will work with you to find the best possible solution for your particular repair issue. Please give me a call or send me an email and we can discuss the details of your repair needs and decide on the best course of action together. I have over 10 years of experience working on canoes and kayaks and working relationships with professionals in the paddle sports industry when advice or specific parts are needed. I genuinely enjoy getting you back out on the water and paddling as soon as possible, and I look forward to talking about what I can do to make your paddling experience more enjoyable.
