This is a message from the Swedish Postal Service, Postnord.
Packages to the USA from Sweden and several other countries are stopped. For almost two months, Postnord has been waiting for customs clearance from the USA. If they don't clear customers in 60 days, they are returned to the shipper.
The background to the decision is the changed US customs rules. Previously, goods worth less than 800 dollars (approximately 7,500 kronor) could be sent into the country without customs or tax surcharges. But since this summer, the exception for smaller shipments has ended. But how the packages will be customs-paid, and how much, is still unclear.
Those primarily affected are small and medium-sized e-commerce companies.
